We love running gifts!
That goes for both giving and receiving them.
And, it is almost time for the holidays (we can say that any time of year, right?).
There are so many options when it comes to finding the best gift for runners that it can be confusing. (Ever heard of paralysis through analysis?).
We're here to make things a little bit easier for you in shopping for runners this year, and in the future.
Just below, we'll share some of our favorite running gifts. Hopefully, you'll love them, and the runners in your life will, too.
You're also encouraged to share:
Lots of runners love technology, and running watches that let them track all sorts of metrics that help them to analyze their training and racing performance. Options range from those being very basic to others being like small computers on your wrist.
Before you buy a running watch for your runner, here are a few suggestions:
Though receiving a running watch is awesome, you do want to be sure that you don't get your runner one that might not have the capabilities that will truly be valuable to them.
Our current favorite: Garmin Forerunner 735
Runners can be very particular about their running gear.
That includes their preferences for how they carry their hydration.
Depending upon the distances being raced, some runners rely solely on aid stations, and won't carry anything on them.
And, there are others who much prefer the convenience of having water with them at all times.
Some will prefer handheld options, while others are rarely seen without their hydration packs.
A few words of advice:
Our current favorite: Nathan Fireball Race Vest
If there is any one item that a runner needs (except for our barefoot running friends), it is running shoes!
Unless you are very close to your runner, and know the particulars of their preferences, this may be a difficult category.
We suggest figuring out their most favorite running store, and grabbing a gift card so that they can pick out their next pair of running shoes!
We would probably be scared to see how much money we've spent on race registrations throughout the years.
Racing certainly is not the cheapest of hobbies, yet it can be so rewarding.
The runner in your life may love more than the act of running.
They may love participating in races, too.
With that, and where actual registration usually does require personal information (like emergency contact info), we suggest a gift card (or cold, hard cash) to help your runner get to the starting line of that next event!
Still not entirely sure what to get for your runner?
Get them a little bit of everything and create your own running goodie bag!
A few things you may want to include:
Have you ever given a running gift that was very well received?
Or, have you been gifted something that was exactly what you needed for upcoming training or racing?
Running gifts conversations are some of our favorites. And, we're always excited when we learn of an idea or gift we hadn't thought of before.
So, let's hear what you've got!
